Day 29 of Sunehra's Christmas Craft Countdown - Santa Belt Cutlery or Silverware Holders and Tags

My project for Day 29 is one of my favourite projects of the countdown. I think it's such a darling idea and I'm so delighted I was able to complete them in time. Once again to recap, I've set myself a challenge for Christmas. My Countdown Goal is simple - Every day from November 1st to November 30th, I'm going to make 3 projects. They could be cards, tags, gift boxes, ornaments, whatever I want to complete but I have to complete at least 3 projects every day. To see my previous countdown projects, click here

The idea of this project is to add a little festive fun to any Christmas party. It's simple enough, not too detailed and elaborate but all the same so festive! Slip your napkins and silverware into these little pockets and suddenly the table will be transformed. At my sale during the Hundred Hands Event people were saying that this is only for sit down dinners but I disagree, you can use them for buffet style parties too, which is what I will be doing.  I finally sold all 30 and even received an order for 15 more!!

With the same Santa belt theme in mind I made a set of tags as neat and as crisp as the cutlery holders. It's not clearly visible but the black belt is actually laced through the white buckle, so when you look at it in real life, you can see the detail.

I added some thin striped ribbon as the tag topper and my Santa Belt tags were ready. I made a whole lot of these for my sale and I'm happy to say that they all sold out!

Day 28 of Sunehra's Christmas Craft Countdown - More Festive Tags

I made a lot of Christmas tags for my Christmas Craft Countdown and my projects for Day 28 is another set of tags.

My first batch is a Santa Hat tag. It's a shaped and flapped tag, different from my usual tag design. The reverse side of this tag can be glued on to the gift and the flap offers plenty of space to write personal messages. I added some fun embossing on the white bits to draw attention to them. Love how this turned out!

My next group of tags is a steaming mug Christmas tag. Something about the cold at this time of year makes steaming mugs seriously christmassy. I once again put the swirls Sindhu sent me to good use as the steam and some pretty gold ribbon also added to the design.

I often find that dry embossing makes cards look really quite elaborate and intricate and since it's so easy to do, I usually add a little to most of my creations. In this tag it was a Snowflake design. To see a card made using the same steaming cup theme, click here.

Day 23 of Sunehra's Christmas Craft Countdown - Gold And Silver Tags

Today is day 24 and once again I posting a day late. The projects were complete, photographed and ready to be shared but Saturday was a busy busy day - two birthdays parties to attend and the kids down with the flu meant that I couldn't share my Day 23 projects.

Today I've made some tags without using the traditional red and green. Not that gold and silver is not Christmassy but somehow red and green is more so. I had this beautiful bell cut file in my Cameo library which I cut in some gold card stock. The same gold paper became the base layer of the tag and the white background is embossed with a gorgeous Merry Christmas design. I finished it off with a wispy satin lined ribbon which is again gold and I think the end result is quite pretty.  Here is a closeup.

For my second set I made silver and white the central theme of the tag. I found these pretty swirly reindeer cut file from www.birdscards.com and I glued it to the base white card stock using dimensional tape. A neat silver bow became my final touch and my 3 tags were ready.

Here's a better look at the reindeer tag. Love those swirly antlers, don't you? This isn't the first time I have used this design. For my Rudolf explosion box, I used the same cut file for the Rudolf Tags. You can view it here.

I have to say that I am NOT AT ALL pleased with how these tags photographed. They both look much better in reality and I just couldn't capture it properly. I tried my best to make them look as they really do but I failed miserably. The gold is looking too harsh and the silver is looking too dull! #@$@#$#@!!!

Right, that's it for me. Stay tuned for my Day 24 post which I will publish later today. Thanks for stopping by!

Day 21 of Sunehra's Christmas Craft Countdown - Snowflake Tags

It's the 21st day of my Christmas Craft Countdown and with it, I'm entering the final week of this challenge.

My project today is a bunch of snowflake tags. I made about five of them since that's how many would fit into one 12" by 12" sheet of card stock. This isn't the first time I've done a snowflake tag, you can view the previous one here

The picture below is a closeup of the tag. You can see here clearly that the snowflake itself is 3D. It's popping out of the tag nicely giving a lovely dimensional feel to the project. It's a dream to look at but a nightmare to store. Those snowflakes are all going to SMASHED by the time Christmas rolls around. Ha ha!

That wraps up Day 21 of my Craft Countdown, can't believe I'm almost done with November. Seems like I just started this challenge like yesterday! It's been a blast and the best is yet to come!!

More tomorrow and thanks for dropping by!

Day 20 of Sunehra's Christmas Craft Countdown - Santa is Stuck!!!

It's the 20th of the month and I'm two-thirds done with my countdown. Can hardly believe it! Can you? Once again to recap, I've set myself a challenge for Christmas. My Countdown Goal is simple - Every day from November 1st to November 30th, I'm going to make 3 projects. They could be cards, tags, gift boxes, ornaments, whatever I want to complete but I have to complete at least 3 projects every day. To see my previous countdown projects, click here

Today I have a really fun project to share with you. I was browsing through www.birdscards.com, this treasure trove of free digital cutfiles and stamps, and then I came across this fabulous design - of Santa Stuck! The creator always offers all versions of the cut file so it was really easy downloading it to my Mac and then cutting it out on my Cameo. Here's the creation!

Isn't it just adorable? I just LOVE IT!!! It's not small, measuring about 4.5" by 6.5", perfect to slip into my standard size envelopes. I've added a photo of the card slightly open so you can understand the layout better. What do you think?

Linking the card to Mim Challenge blog - Santa

I liked this 'Santa Stuck' theme so much that I decided to do a bunch of tags with the same design. The only difference is that the entire piece is glued with dimensional table on a base tag. I also added a ribbon in the centre. The tag is of course smaller than the card, measuring about 4" by 3".

Isn't it just adorable? I can't stop looking at, so so so so pleased with this design. Gotta love Birdscards.com! Such fantastic designs are all totally free! She's such a star!

That wraps up Day 20. See you tomorrow folks!

Day 19 of Sunehra's Christmas Craft Countdown - Wreath Tags

I've got a quick post for you today. It's day 19 of my countdown and I realised I have quite a few cards (almost 30) and not quite so many tags. So I decided to make a few more today to comply with my Countdown.

My tags are based on a wreath card I made a few days ago which was very well received. You can view it here. It's a simple enough layout but OMG, extracting those delicate leaves from my Cameo mat and gluing them down without making a mess was SUCH A JOB!!! Don't think I'll be making any more of these any time soon. Ha ha!

Here's a close up of the tag. I've embossed the background with a spotted design and added this intricate wreath as a centre feature. The little berries all over the wreath are little adhesive rhinestones. So convenient for such projects.

That wraps up today's post. I told you it was gonna be a quick one! The kids are gonna be home any minute so adios for now!

Day 17 of Sunehra's Christmas Craft Countdown - 3D Bow Tags

I've got a quick post to share with you today. It's the weekend and there's only so much I can craft so to comply with my Countdown challenge, I made 4 pretty tags.

I love paper bows, I think they give such a fun feel to any craft project. I am also addicted to this Merry Christmas embossing folder I picked up a week ago. I find myself turning to it, more often than not. So these two elements became the main focus of my project. Here's a close up of the tag

I added a just a pop of green with some pretty ribbon and and my card was ready. I really like the end result. Dimensional tags are so much fun and are certain to add such a pretty feel to any Christmas gift.

That's it for today! Have a great Sunday folks!!!

Day 14 of Sunehra's Christmas Craft Countdown - A Christmas Explosion Box

I've always loved explosion boxes but I've never made one for Christmas - that is until today. I've filled it with some really fun elements - just perfect for my Christmas Craft Countdown.

The photograph below shows the box when it's closed. Looks like an ordinary gift box right? That's the fun with an explosion box! At first glance it looks like a normal gift box but then when it opens....

... It explodes to a large open card!!! Since this is a Christmas Explosion, the central feature is a 3D Santa, all cut on my Cameo. Isn't he just adorable!! Love love love it!!! I decided the first three squares to the sentiment - which reads Merry Christmas. Then 3 boxes contain little pockets for tags and the last 2 boxes have a journaling space.

Here's a closeup of the tags - the Santa theme prevails with a cute little Santa hat as the main focus. I think these look really fun and festive!

Here's a look inside when you first open the lid. There you have the 3D santa and all the sides closed up! Any recipient is going to be most curious don't you think?

I think an explosion box is a great way to present someone with a boring but well-appreciated gift like money or a gift card. With all the pockets available, there's plenty of space to include slip in the cash or card.

That wraps up Day 14! Almost midway of my countdown and what a blast it has been!

Day 12 of Sunehra's Christmas Craft Countdown - Cards and Tags

Today was a busy busy day. I knew from the start that I would never finish in time for daylight photos and knowing ensured I did nice clean work instead of hurried messy work. To see my previous countdown projects, click here. So if you read my last post you know that I am fresh out of ideas and I have decided to start relying on Craft Challenges for inspiration. This time I turned to two different challenges and here goes!

My first card is a fun Gingerbread Theme set - a card and a coordinating tag. I relied on Merry Monday Challenge # 83 which has asked for stripes, red, chocolate with stars or hearts. Now was a packed challenge. One of the design team members - Linda made a fun gingerbread man card so I actually picked up on that and here is my creation. The stripes are embossed on the white layer, the red is in the ribbon and stars. The chocolate is the Gingerbread Men. The inspiration sketch follows my project photos.

For my next card, I followed the sketch on Techno Stamper - TSSC 288  Only the card follows the sketch, the tag is inspired by the card. I had some fun with this Merry Christmas embossing folder. I just sketched over the embossing with a red alcohol marker. The sketch follows my project.

And that wraps up Day 12 of my Christmas Craft Countdown. Does anyone have any idea how many Christmas projects I've made? Gotta sit down and make a count.

See you tomorrow!

Day 10 of Sunehra's Christmas Craft Countdown - Embossed Christmas Tags

Today was Sunday and it's always insane on Sundays so I decided to keep things simple and achievable. I had a few die cuts and embossed cards left over from my previous projects this week. So I decided to use them and make some sleek and stylish tags. Since they were so easy to do, I managed to make 4 instead of the targeted 3 projects a day. To see my previous countdown projects, click here.

My first tag is embossed with 'Merry Christmas' at the bottom and has a single holly leaf at the top. This kind of matches my holly leaf card yesterday which you can view here. I guess what I like most about this tag is how clear the embossing is.

I still had more embossed card of the same design so I used it with a reindeer head die cut that was left over from the Earthy Christmas Card series which you can view here. I never realised until this week that brown actually goes really well with the Christmas theme.

My next card was made using some left over embossed card from my Snowflake card which you can view here. I had a sleigh cut out which was remaining from the Sleigh Time project so this became the central feature of this tag.

Finally my least favourite tag is the twine and button ornament theme which I've carried forward from yesterday's post which had this as the central feature. The original card looks lovely and I had great hopes for the coordinating tag but have to admit, I'm not too pleased with it.

I finished my tags well in time, photographed them too without delay but then my day started getting crazy. So I've only now had the chance to share them with you. Hope you like them and see you tomorrow when I present Day 11 of my Christmas Craft Countdown!

Day 7 of Sunehra's Christmas Craft Countdown - It's Sleigh Time!!!

Today I have to say I am really delighted with my creations. I had this 3D sleigh Cameo cut file since last Christmas and I never used it. I finally decided to try it out today as part of my Christmas craft Countdown. To see my previous Countdown projects, click here.

Here is my 3D sleigh cut on my Cameo, which I have intended to be a Christmas Treatbox. Every year, I present homemade sweet treats to friends and neighbours in a handmade box. Last year I made a whole bunch of identical Poinsettia boxes which you can view here. And I have to say the monotony of making the same thing over and over again really got to me. So this year I'm going to have some fun with the boxes. My Sleigh Treatbox is one of the options. It's actually quite roomy measuring 10" long by 4.5" wide and 5.5" tall, perfect to hold some home made cookies, cupcakes and chocolates.

Of course with each sleigh candy box, I have to present a sleigh card right? Ha ha - maybe... maybe not but since I was making a sleigh, I decided to make a coordinating sleigh card. The same cut file was used with my Cameo albeit in a smaller size to create this Ho Ho Ho Card.

And to take the set a little further, I made a coordinating tag as well. The sleigh cut file was further crunched to make a small little embellishment which I combined with card stock and pattern paper.

Today again I finished my Sleigh Set too late to photograph it in natural light. So I was forced to turn on the lights to capture my work but I will re-click them tomorrow to better present the colours and design. UPDATE: The pictures above are the re-clicked images.

Day 6 of Sunehra's Christmas Craft Countdown - An Earthy Christmas

Almost a week up of my Christmas Craft Countdown and I am really amazed that I have been able to stick to my goal.

My inspiration for today's cards was Casology's Key Word this week which is Brown, so all my projects today are shades of brown. My first card is this abstract nativity scene all cut on my Cameo. The base card is brown, the next layer is white and the nativity scene is cut in brown again. For the star and baby Jesus, I cut some beige card stock.

My next card is a brown reindeer silhouette. Again 3 layers - base brown, next white and the top layer is brown again in which the reindeer silhouette has been cut. It actually looks better than this. I think I'll take some photos tomorrow morning when the sun is up and my card looks its best.

Finally I used the die cut from the reindeer card to make a reindeer tag. Isn't it really clean and simple and sleek? Love love love the simplicity of it all and the warm rich colour tones.  Entering this tag into The Paper Players 170 - Wildlife, ABC Christmas Challenge - V for Vixen and Tuesday Throwdown 172 - Tag It.

Today was a really crazy day. The kids were late to school, my son refused to go in the carpool and insisted I take him to school, my father in law and I had an afternoon Scrabble date and it was only 5pm before I could start to craft. I am obsessed with photographing my work in natural light and since the sun sets at 6pm this time of year, I just had one hour to get them ready. I actually didn't quite make it which is why the photos are quite grainy, but I managed to complete 3 projects today as per my goal! Woo Hoo!! The only issue is that I am running out of ideas. Gotta spend some time Pinteresting I think!

Update: The Photos above are the re-clicked images.

Day 5 of Sunehra's Christmas Craft Countdown - 3 Round Tags

My Christmas Craft Countdown is going strong. Today is day 5 and I decided to spend it using the scraps from my snow globe card project of yesterday.

For my first two tags, I used the gingerbread houses from the DCWV Evergreen Stack as the central feature. One was fussy cut around the shape of the house and the was die cut with my circle die. They were then pasted on two layers of the round scraps left over from my Snow Globe Cards. Cute isn't it?

My next tag is a little different. I got tired of the Gingerbread house theme and decided to cut something on my cameo. I have this really pretty snowflake design. I cut 2 identical snowflakes. One I glued down and the other I folded in half, and just glued down the fold. So it has a 3D effect.  For a final touch I added a pearl at the tips of the snowflake.

I'm pretty kicked about my craft countdown! I guess publishing my goal and deadline is forcing me to craft on schedule and that's allowing me to build up my Christmas stash nicely. So far, in the last 5 days  I have made 10 cards and 6 tags - super!!
